About ITISYOU
ITISYOU is an independent browser project built on one conviction: a browser should be an instrument you own, not a surface you're farmed through. The name is the thesis — it is you, not the vendor, who the browser answers to.
What this is
A Chromium-derived, cross-platform browser (Windows first, Linux/macOS architecture-ready) built in C++ on the CEF binary distribution, with Chromium's sandbox and process isolation kept intact. Tab Mode and Workspaces as complementary models. Privacy as architecture. AI off by default — structurally, not cosmetically.
It is currently in Phase 1 of 4 (Foundation) and has shipped no releases. The why page holds the principles; the story page holds the running history.

Evidence over claims — including here
The development process holds a hard rule: every milestone needs implementation, tests, and verification before it's called done. This website is built under the same rule. The progress page and the status API render from the project's own status data; the comparison page cites a source for every claim about other browsers; the downloads page tells you plainly that there is nothing to download.
No fabricated uptime dashboards, no invented community numbers, no fake changelogs, no placeholder checksums. If a page here ever contradicts the status data, the status data wins and the page is wrong.
Colophon
- Stack: static HTML generated by a zero-dependency Node.js build script; served by Cloudflare Workers with static assets.
- Design: the project's "Technical Precision" design system — Inter and JetBrains Mono, Bone and Deep Slate, 1px borders, hard offset shadows, a 4px grid, and no gradients.
- Fonts: Inter (The Inter Project Authors) and JetBrains Mono (JetBrains s.r.o.), both under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, self-hosted as woff2 — license note. No font CDN is contacted.
- Behavior: no analytics, no cookies, no external requests of any kind at runtime. See privacy.
The project has no public contact channel, forum, or community space yet — and won't pretend to. browse.itisyou.app is the single official source of project information. Channels will be announced here when they actually exist.
